Do I need to connect Claude to follow these guides?
No. You can write and publish directly in OpenDocs without Claude. Connecting Claude is optional and adds AI drafting, editing, and publishing on top of the same editor and page history, from claude.ai, Claude Desktop, or Claude Code.
Which OpenDocs plan do I need to use Claude?
Connecting claude.ai or Claude Desktop over OAuth works on every plan, including Free. Connecting Claude Code uses an OpenDocs API key, which requires the Enterprise or Compliance plan.
Is OpenDocs made by Anthropic?
No. OpenDocs is an independent product listed in Claude's connector directory. It works with Claude over the Model Context Protocol, but Anthropic does not build or endorse OpenDocs.
